Adam Borrego, Joshua Turner

Jan. 30 Odessa police arrested 32-year-old Adam Borrego on Jan. 30 and charged him with unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, a third-degree felony; and theft of a firearm and possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), both of which are state jail felonies. Police also arrested 27-year-old Joshua Turner and charged him with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), a third-degree felony. Officers pulled over a black Chevrolet Tahoe, driven by Borrego, in the area of 52nd Street and Winchester Avenue. The passenger of the vehicle was identified as Turner. Police searched the vehicle and found methamphetamine and marijuana. Borrego was found to be in possession of less than a gram of methamphetamine. Turner was found to be in possession of two grams of methamphetamine. Borrego was also found to be in possession of a black and silver Ruger SR9C 9mm caliber handgun. Investigation revealed the handgun had been reported stolen out of Ector County. Further investigation revealed that Borrego had a previous felony conviction for driving while intoxicated with a child passenger. Borrego, 307 N. Alabama St., was being held Feb. 3 at the Ector County Detention Center on $25,000 bond. Turner, 109 W. Ada St., was being held Feb. 3 at the Ector County Detention Center on $7,500 bond.
