Planet troopers and their parents help to clean up the park Saturday morning at McKinney Park. More than 90 kids have answered the call for help from Keep Odessa Beautiful to become a Planet Trooper and wipe out litter in our community. The kids will be picking up litter between 10 a.m.and noon Saturday, July 8 at Sherwood Park, 4819 N. Everglade. Planet Troopers is a summer program that offers children, ages 8-12, the opportunity to become a superhero for the City of Odessa and keep our parks clean this summer. Participants will be treated to lunch, and receive a KOB goodie bag, complete with a 7-day pool pass valid at Odessa pools through the summer 2017 season.Planet Troopers is sponsored by City of Odessa Parks and Recreation, Republic Services, and the H-E-B Green Bag Grant.
