Leona Smith, 91, holds a photo of her and her husband Robert Smith that was taken while he was on leave from service in Japan in 1946 with the United States Army. The Smiths celebrated 72 years of marriage on May 14th. When Robert Smith first spotted Leona working at a diner in 1945 in Spur, Texas, he told his friend, "I’m going to marry her." Robert’s advise to a long lasting relationship is to "marry the right woman." Leona’s advise to a long lasting relationship is to, " Put God first then each other and try to make more time to communicate about the happy times and the troubled times."
