Robert Smith, 91, and Leona Smith, 91, celebrated 72 years of marriage on May 14th. When Robert Smith first spotted Leona working at a diner in 1945 in Spur, Texas, he told his friend, "I’m going to marry her." Robert Smith would go on marry Leona a couple years later after returning home from his service in Japan in 1947 with the United States Army. Robert’s advise to a long lasting relationship is to "marry the right woman." Leona’s advise to a long lasting relationship is to, " Put God first then each other and try to make more time to communicate about the happy times and the troubled times."
