A photo from 1909 shows The Ritchey Wine Saloon & Beer Garden back when it was called the City Hotel. The building was known as a working man’s saloon and hotel on the south side of the Pacific Union railroad tracks on Alpine’s historic Murphy Avenue. In March 2018 the hotel reopened to the public for the first time in nearly 50 years as a modern day saloon specializing in fine wine and craft beer.
