Keiko Asakawa thumps a ceramic bowl to check for cracks during preparation for Empty Bowls fundraiser Thursday night at the West Texas Food Bank. West Texas Food Bank has scheduled the 2017 Empty Bowls fundraiser at 7 p.m. Jan. 20 at 411 Paigewood Avenue. General admission is $15 and includes selection of one handcrafted bowl and dinner, featuring homemade soup by Catfish & Co. of Odessa and Jason’s Deli of Midland. There will also be a silent auction featuring the work of local artists.
