Freshman forward Hayley Sawyer and senior Olivia Rees were the two members from the UTPB women’s soccer team honored by the Lone Star Conference on its All-LSC team Tuesday.
Sawyer was named Freshman of the Year by the conference while Rees was named to the all-academic team.
Sawyer is the second player in program history to earn Freshman of the Year honors with the only other award coming when Marianne Hubnik was honored back in 2008. The freshman from Midland started all nine games and shared the award with Marit Auee of Dallas Baptist.
Rees is the first Falcon named to the conference’s All-Academic team and led the team with three goals in the spring.
