LAKE CHARLES, LA. The Odessa College women’s basketball team fell by an 80-79 score against LSU Eunice Saturday at Burton Coliseum in the Lake Charles New Year’s Classic.
The Lady Wranglers had five players score in double digits, with Isamery Aramonte leading the team with 20 points on 7-of-12 shooting.
LSU Eunice held a 44-28 lead at the end of the first quarter and that held up until the halftime break, as both teams were scoreless through the second period.
Odessa College took over the lead in the third quarter by outscoring LSU Eunice 36-14, but couldn’t hold on as the Lady Bengals outscored the Lady Wranglers by seven points in the fourth.
The Lady Wranglers now hold a 3-11 overall record, with an 0-2 mark in Western Junior College Athletic Conference play.
They will play Western Texas College at 5:45 p.m. Thursday in Snyder.
