WOMEN’S COLLEGE BASKETBALL: Falcons will end long layoff against Texas Woman’s

A long layoff will finally end for the UTPB women’s basketball team, as it will play Texas Woman’s in Lone Star Conference play at 5:15 p.m. Thursday at the Falcon Dome.

The Falcons haven’t played a game since their 70-66 win over Sul Ross State on Dec. 29 because of COVID-19 postponements in their schedule.

Their contests against St. Mary’s, St. Edward’s and Angelo State were postponed, with the game against St. Edward’s being rescheduled to take place at 1 p.m. Monday in Austin.

UTPB (4-8 overall) is currently on a three-game winning streak, with all three of those victories coming at home.

Alexus Wykoff leads the Falcons with 13.6 points per game, with Avalon Munoz averaging 9.6 points.
