The men’s super-G has been postponed from Tuesday to Thursday due to heavy snowfall and poor course conditions.
It’s the second race that has been postponed at the worlds after the women’s combined, which was slated to open the competition on Monday. The women’s combined was postponed indefinitely.
The worlds are down to open on Tuesday with the women’s super-G.
There are separate speed courses for men and women, and snow removal began earlier on the women’s course.

A Swiss ski team coach has tested positive for the coronavirus.
The Swiss federation confirms that women’s tech head coach, Alois Prenn, has been quarantining since his positive result and is without symptoms.
All skiers and other coaches in the team have tested negative and Prenn has been replaced by Beat Tschuor for the duration of the worlds.
It’s the second coaching change for Wendy Holdener in the buildup to the defense of her combined world title.
Holdener, who is the Olympic silver medalist in slalom, had just started to train with the tech team after she parted ways with her personal coach, Klaus Mayrhofer, this week.
Holdener and Mayrhofer worked together for less than a year but their cooperation had been “not optimal,” according to Swiss Ski.
Everyone involved with the worlds is being tested for COVID-19 every three days.

The opening race of the Alpine skiing world championships has been postponed.
Heavy snowfall forced organizers to call the women’s combined off on Monday with no immediate new date for the race announced.
The International Ski Federation says information about rescheduling will come later.
The men’s and women’s super-G races are scheduled for Tuesday.
Next Monday is a reserve day in the schedule.

Snowfall was expected. Snowfall is what came overnight. Too much of it.
The start of the women’s combined race that is slated to open the Alpine skiing world championships has been delayed indefinitely.
Organizers made the decision “due to the heavy snowfall” with a next announcement expected in an hour.
Organizers had already swapped the two portions of the race, putting the slalom first and running the super-G as the second leg. The winner will be determined by adding together the skiers’ times from the two runs.
The slalom run was scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. (1000 GMT).
Mikaela Shiffrin, Petra Vlhova and Michelle Gisin are among the favorites.
No fans are attending the worlds due to a nationwide ban on spectators at sports events in Italy amid the coronavirus pandemic.
