TEXAS LEAGUE BASEBALL: RockHounds drop series finale to RoughRiders in 10 innings

FRISCO LeDarious Clark singled in the winning run in the 10th inning Saturday to lift the Frisco RoughRiders to an 8-7 victory over the Midland RockHounds at Dr Pepper Ballpark.

The RoughRiders moved a game ahead of Midland for first place in the Texas League South Division.

Down 2-0 after three innings, the RockHounds scored all their runs and recorded eight of their 10 hits in the fourth, sending 12 men to the plate. Mikey White singled in the go-ahead run. Chase Calabuig, who led off the inning with a single, capped the outburst with a two-run triple.

Calabuig finished 2 for 5 and Brallan Perez was 2 for 43 for the RockHounds. Frisco’s Juremi Profar was 4 for 5 with a double and two RBIs.

Frisco came back with a run in the fifth and two in the sixth and seventh. Eliezer Alvarez tied it with a two-run homer in the seventh.

In the 10th, Frisco reliever Walker Weickel (1-0) retired the RockHounds on three fly balls. Clark, who hit a solo homer in the sixth, twice failed to get a bunt down before lining a single into center off Midland reliever John Gorman (2-1).

Midland returns to Security Bank Ballpark for an eight-game homestand starting at 6:30 p.m. Monday against the Tulsa Drillers.
