NORTH AMERICAN HOCKEY LEAGUE: Jackalopes work overtime for home victory

The Odessa Jackalopes got their first home victory of the season with a 4-3 overtime triumph against the Lone Star Brahmas Saturday at the Ector County Coliseum.

Ryan Kelly scored twice for the Jackalopes, including the game winner at 1:03 of the extra period.

It was Kelly’s goal at the 8:45 mark of the third period that tied the game.

Dayne Hoyord and Emerson Goode also scored for Odessa, with goaltender William Proctor stopping 28 of the 31 shots he faced on the night.

The Jackalopes improved to 10-5-0-1, good for 21 points and the top spot in the North American Hockey League’s South Division by three points over Amarillo.

Lone Star dropped to 6-5-3-1.
