NORTH AMERICAN HOCKEY LEAGUE: Jackalopes earn split against Wranglers

AMARILLO John Christen, Ryan Kelly and Emerson Goode all scored goals as the Odessa Jackalopes defeated Amarillo 3-1 in North American Hockey League play Saturday at the Amarillo Civic Center.

Nathanial Boak had two assists, with Jackson Hay, Ryan Mansfield, Andrew Stacey and William Marshall each finishing with one helper.

Odessa improved to 15-15-0-1 and split the two-game series after a 1-0 loss Friday.

Goaltender Gergely Orosz stopped 42 of the 43 shots he faced on the night.

Kelly opened the scoring at the 8:41 mark of the second period, with Amarillo’s Ben Ivey tying the game at the 16:24 mark.

Goode scored the eventual game-winner moments later at the 18:05 mark, with Christen adding an insurance goal just 7:51 into the third period.

The Jackalopes will face the Lone Star Brahmas at 2 p.m. Monday at the NYTEX Sports Centre in North Richland Hills.
