NORTH AMERICAN HOCKEY LEAGUE: Bajzer scores twice to pace Jackalopes’ victory

CORPUS CHRISTI Tanyon Bajzer scored twice to lead the Odessa Jackalopes to a 7-3 victory against the Corpus Christi IceRays on Thursday at the American Bank Center.

William Marshall, Brendan Finn, Ryan Kelly, Emerson Goode and Marc Fletemeyer all scored for the Jackalopes (13-14-0-1), with Ryan Mansfield and Dayne Hoyord each finishing with two assists.

Goaltender Gergely Orosz stopped 41 of the 44 shots he faced for the victory.

Anthony Cafarelli, Logan Neilson and Stepan Kuznetsov scored for the IceRays, who opened a 2-0 lead just 6:54 into the game.

Goode scored 30 seconds later to cut the deficit in half and Bajzer netted his first of the night at the 9:24 mark to even the first period.

His second of the night put the Jackalopes in front 5:11 into the second period before Kuznetsov knotted things back up at the 17:42 mark.

The Jackalopes went back in front for good when Finn and Fletemeyer scored 58 second apart in the final minute of the second period.

The teams conclude there two-game series at 7:05 p.m. Friday at the American Bank Center.
