The Odessa High boys and girls gymnastics teams opened the season with victories when the defeated visiting Lubbock High in the Cold Turkey Meet Thursday at Odessa High.

The Bronchos defeated the Westerners 157.80-111.30 in the compulsory meet, while the Lady Bronchos earned a 98.70-71.80 victory against the Lady Westerners.

Nicholas Drakus of Odessa High won the boys all-around title with 55.60 points, easily outdistancing teammate Adrian Arreola in second (50.70) and Lubbock High’s Jackson Williams (50.50) in third.

Odessa High’s Brittney Paredes won the girls all-around crown with 37.95 points. Christa Adjani (30.15) and Kelsea Whitlock (29.65), both of Odessa High, were second and third, respectively.
