The Permian girls track and field team took first place at the San Angelo Relays, held Friday and Saturday at San Angelo Stadium.
The Lady Panthers (81 points) bested second-place Lubbock Coronado (76) and Round Rock (63) to round out the podium.
Permian’s Calyha Brown set a meet record with her 42 feet, 1.75 inch first-place throw on shot put.
The Lady Panthers 4×100 relay team also won at the event, finishing with a time of 49.32 seconds. They bested a team from Round Rock Cedar Ridge, which finished with a time of 49.35.
Permian’s Tyranique Harris won the 200-yard dash with a time of 24.98 seconds, nearly a second better than her closest competitor.
