In Class 2A Girls Singles, Jonnah Smith of Wink fell to Landry Laywell of Thorndale, 6-2, 6-2 in the semifinal round. Laywell would go on to win the state title Friday morning.
Smith’s teammates, Sabrina Mercier and TyAnn Slaughter also saw their season end in the semifinals to Megan Canfield and Sterling Smith of Mason, who won 6-3, 6-2.
In Class 1A Girls Doubles, the team of Kailey Dominguez and Carsyn Evans from Buena Vista fell 6-7 (3), 6-4, 7-6 (4) to the team of Abby Geye and Caryn Lawrence of Rising Star.
