Former Permian outfielder Rylee Day was selected as a Class 5A-6A Legacy All-Star by the Texas Girls Coaches Association. The full 20-member teams for both 5A-6A and 1A-4A were announced on Tuesday.
The athletes were selected by the TGCA committee based off of nominations from head coaches across the state.
Day was an integral part of the Lady Panthers team this season as both a leadoff hitter and the everyday center fielder.
She helped the Lady Panthers clinch postseason appearances in each of the last two seasons. That includes the farthest postseason run in program history when Permian advanced to the Class 6A regional semifinals in 2018.
