The historic run continues for the Permian Lady Panthers softball team.

Permian (33-4) takes on the Plano High Wildcats in a Class 6A regional semifinal playoff series at Abilene Christian University’s Wells Field in Abilene.

Game 1 is slated for 7:30 p.m. Thursday, while Game 2 is at 7:30 p.m. Friday. If necessary, Game 3 is at 2 p.m. Saturday.

Permian is in the fourth round for the first time in program history after defeating Abilene High in three games in the regional quarterfinals. Permian lost Game 1 2-0 before it battled back to win the next two games 2-0 and 13-4, respectively.

Plano (23-4), the District 6-6A champion, is in the regional semifinal for the first time since 2011. The Wildcats eliminated Flower Mound in a one-game playoff 10-6 in the regional quarterfinals Friday.

The winner of the series takes on the winner of the Keller High vs. Wylie game in the regional finals.
