HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL: Permian travels to face Midland Lee

The Permian Panthers look to maintain sole possession of first place in the District 2-6A boys basketball standings when they take on Midland Lee at 7:30 p.m. tonight at the Chaparral Center in Midland.

The Panthers (21-3 overall, 3-0 district) defeated Amarillo Tascosa 51-37 Friday to become the final 2-6A team without a district loss and extend their winning streak to 13 games. Midland Lee (7-18, 0-3) is coming off a 63-53 loss at Wolfforth Frenship.

In the girls game, at 6 p.m., Permian (11-13, 1-4) looks to tie Midland Lee (13-14, 2-3) for fourth place in the 2-6A standings. Midland Lee won the first meeting 42-41 at Permian on Jan. 5.
