AMARILLO The Permian boys basketball team clinched the No. 1 playoff seed from District 2-6A Tuesday night with a 62-52 win over Amarillo Tascosa.

Brother Miller led all scorers with 23. Derrick Wright was the only other Panthers to score in double figures, adding 10. Cameron Brown led the Rebels with 19.

Permian (26-3 overall, 8-0 district) took a two-point lead into halftime, but extended that to 13 points by the end of the third quarter.

The Panthers play their final two regular-season games at home against Midland ISD schools. Up first is Midland Lee at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
