MONAHANS The Permian volleyball team had a strong showing at the 47th Monahans Volleyball Tournament, going 3-1 in pool play Friday at the Ward County Event Center.
Jade Workman was among the standouts for the Lady Panthers, recording 33 kills in the team’s four contests, including a match-high 13 in a loss against Greenwood.
Denali Cardenas helped set up her teammates throughout the day, putting up 44 assists over the four-match stretch.
Odessa High finished 2-2 on the day with victories against El Paso Chapin and Alpine in the afternoon to go with losses in the morning to Amarillo Caprock and Big Spring.
Clarissa Rodriguez led the Lady Bronchos with 19 kills for the day while Zoelley Herrera led the team with 31 assists.
Paige Byford also had a team-best five aces in the match against Caprock.
Tournament play will continue Saturday for both teams at the Ward County Event Center.
