HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL: Odessa High’s Navarrete leads way for ECISD on All-District team

Odessa High sophomore infielder Shelby Navarrete was named the Offensive Most Valuable Player as part of the All-District 2-6A softball team that was released this week.

Navarrete helped lead the Lady Bronchos to a second-place finish in the district and a bi-district title.

Pitcher Meghan Gattis, catcher Abegail Molina and infielder Lisbeth Dominguez all earned first-team selections for the Lady Bronchos along with Permian’s Tiggy Rayos.

Utility Emma Chavez and outfielder Taylor Ramirez were second-team selections for the Lady Panthers along with Odessa High’s Alexis Villa, Joley Cruz and Nivea Saenz.

Midland High earned three of the five superlative awards.

Alex Aguilar was named the district MVP, Jolie Baeza earned Newcomer of the Year and head coach Shawnda Vines was awarded Coach of the Year.
