HIGH SCHOOL GYMNASTICS: Odessa High with solid start at state

The Odessa High boys gymnastics team sits in seventh place with 162.80 points after the first day of competition at the THSGCA State Championships at Trinity High School.

The Bronchos sit just .450 points behind fifth-place Chisholm Trail (163.25). One of the goals for Odessa High entering the competition was finishing in the Top 5.

Odessa High’s Seth Regalado is currently eighth in the all-around standings with 56.70 pints. Clayton Staunton of Highland Park leads the way with 58.45 ponits.

Permian, which did not qualify as a team but sent six athletes to the event, is 14th in the standings with 125.00 points. Zachary Cordle is the Panthers’ top scorer at 47.80 points, good for 35th in the all around.
