HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Pecos to play home games at Rotary Field

The Pecos football teams will play at Rotary Field this season in a statement released Wednesday by the Pecos-Barstow-Toyah Independent School District.

The announcement comes after the bleachers had been declared structurally unsafe for fans Aug. 9 following an assessment by Ponce-Fuess Engineering and by the Town of Pecos building inspector.

The district will bring in portable bleachers that will be placed behind each end zone to accommodate 1,000 fans on both sides.

The Eagles’ previously scheduled home game against Crane on Aug. 27 had been moved to Crane and will not be moved back to Pecos.

The first home game at Rotary Field will be Sept. 17 against Fabens.
