HIGH SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY: Permian boys take first place at McNeil Cross Country Invitational

ROUND ROCK Permian’s Christian Chavez placed first in the Class 6A boys 5k race at the McNeil Cross Country Invite Saturday.

Chavez finished his race in 16:21.20, helping the Permian boys cross country team to a first-place team finish.

His teammate Adriel Hinojos also had a top 10 finish, placing ninth in the same race.

The Odessa High boys placed 13^th in the team standings, led by Joseph Flotte who clocked in at 17:30.70 to finish in 26^th place.

The Permian girls cross country team finished eighth the Class 6A girls race and the Odessa High girls placed 12^th.
