HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL: Bronchos eliminated from postseason contention with loss to Bobcats

The Odessa High baseball team was eliminated from postseason contention as the Bronchos fell 13-2 to San Angelo Central in District 2-6A play Tuesday at Pressly Field.

The Bronchos (15-13 overall, 6-11 district) fell behind 2-1 after the first inning and 3-1 after three innings before the Bobcats (12-20, 7-10) pulled away with four runs in the top of the fourth inning and six runs in the sixth.

Alex Cadena and Joeluis Charles drove in the only runs of the game for Odessa High. San Angelo Central had five players record two hits and got a complete-game effort from Juandiego Lagunes.

Lagunes allowed four hits and struck out eight in the victory.

The Bronchos end the season with a road game at San Angelo Central at 6 p.m. Friday at Donsky Field.
