The Permian and Odessa High girls basketball teams will open their seasons Friday with nondistrict contests.
Odessa High is set to host Plainview at 6:30 p.m. at the OHS Fieldhouse, while Permian will be on the road to face Levelland at 6 p.m. in Levelland.
It will be the first of two matchups in two days for the Lady Panthers, as they will host Seminole at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Permian Fieldhouse.
The Lady Bronchos went 12-14 last season, advancing to the bi-district round of the playoffs while Permian was winless in District 2-6A play.
