GIRLS HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL: Lady Panthers snap two-game skid against Abilene High

The Permian girls basketball team ended a two-game losing streak with a 47-40 win over Abilene High in District 2-6A play Tuesday at the Permian Fieldhouse.

Permian used its defense to build up an early lead, outscoring the Lady Eagles by 10 points through the first half.

Despite a 22-point fourth quarter, Abilene High wasn’t able to jump ahead of the Lady Panthers as Bailey Wight and Kimora Pierce combined for 11 points to close out the game.

Before its win over Abilene High, Permian fell in consecutive losses against San Angelo Central and Midland Legacy.

The Lady Panthers (5-14 overall, 3-4 district) will go up against Wolfforth Frenship at 6 p.m. Friday in Wolfforth.
