KINGSVILLE A cold second quarter doomed the UTPB women’s basketball team Thursday night in a 59-55 road loss against Texas A&M-Kingsville.
The Falcons outscored the Javelinas in every frame except that second quarter, but only mustered three points in the period, outscored 14-3. UTPB led 18-16 by the end of the first quarter, but trailed 30-21 at the half and couldn’t dig out of that hole.
Khali Pippins-Tryon led UTPB with 19 points and Kayla Bretherton added another 14 in the losing effort.
