CLARENDON Odessa College’s struggles continued Monday with an 84-78 loss at Clarendon College in WJCAC action.
The loss dropped Odessa College (13-7 overall, 1-4 WJCAC) into a tie for last place in the conference standings. The Lady Wranglers have lost three in a row and five of their last seven.
Shannon Dozier scored 18 points to lead Odessa College with Chinna Fair and Cameryn Wilson scoring 13 each and Leticia Soares adding 12. Soares grabbed a game-high nine rebounds with Tanaka Gapare getting eight to go along with six points, while Fair had nine assists.
Clarendon College (18-3, 2-3) was led by Ja’Vonda Daniels and Mia Castaneda with 26 points apiece. Daijah Henry added 14 points and seven rebounds off the bench.
The Lady Wranglers outscored Clarendon College 69-62 from the floor, but the Bulldogs made 22 of 24 free throws to make up the difference. Odessa College was 9 of 11 at the line. Odessa College was called for 21 fouls to eight for Clarendon College.
