ALPINE The UTPB softball team stepped out of Lone Star Conference play for a day and came away with a sweep of Sul Ross State University, winning 10-4 and 4-2 Tuesday at Sul Ross.

Cindy Juarez and Sloan Springfield earned the victories for the Falcons, who improved to 10-23 on the season.

UTPB’s Adrianna Berzoza homered in the first game, which ended after five innings on the run rule.
