Daeshon Francis and Sammy Allen of the UTPB men’s basketball team swept the weekly Lone Star Conference awards Monday with Francis named offensive player of the week and Allen defensive player of the week.
Francis averaged 20.5 points and 5.5 rebounds, scoring 15 points against Texas A&M-Commerce and 26 against Tarleton State, and made 17 of 20 free throws for the week.
Allen averaged 13.5 rebounds for the week, grabbing 16 against the Lions and 11 against the Texans. He also had two steals and helped UTPB hold opponents to a 36.2 percent shooting performance from the field.
