COLLEGE BASKETBALL: Odessa College continues win streak against Clarendon College

L.J. Figueroa scored 23 points Monday to lead Odessa College to an 89-83 victory over Clarendon College in a key WJCAC game.

The Wranglers (17-2 overall, 6-0 WJCAC) moved a full game ahead of idle South Plains College atop the conference standings and two games in front of Clarendon College (14-6, 4-2).

Keandre Cook and J.J. Simpson each had 15 points for the Wranglers, who have won eight in a row and 15 of their last 16.

Clarendon College’s Reece Brooks scored 40 points and Ellis Jefferson had 27. The Bulldogs never led, but kept the game close by making 12 of 34 3-pointers.
