HOBBS, N.M. UTPB scored five runs in the first inning en route to an 8-3 victory against the University of the Southwest in nonconference baseball Wednesday.
Mike Fernandez was 2 for 4 with a pair of singles and one RBI for the Falcons (4-12). Skylar Palermo added a 2-for-5 effort to UTPB’s 10-hit afternoon.
The host Mustangs (13-14) finished with six hits.
