The UTPB baseball team picked up its first victory of the new season on Friday, earning a 4-3 victory over Southern Nazarene to split a doubleheader.
UTPB lost the opener 3-1, but in the nightcap Mike Fernandez broke a 3-3 tie in the bottom of the fifth with an RBI single that pushed Dalton Drury across home plate.
Alex Rivera earned the win on the mound for the Falcons.
UTPB (1-4) concludes its four-game weekend series with Southern Nazarene with a doubleheader starting today at noon at Roden Field.
