Falcons back on the road

The UTPB football team will look to make it two in a row away from home when it faces West Texas A&M at 7 p.m. Saturday in Canyon.

The Falcons (2-2 overall, 1-1 in Lone Star Conference) defeated Western Oregon, 27-24, last week in Monmouth, Ore.

Quarterback Dylan Graham threw for more than 230 yards and two touchdowns in the comeback victory.

West Texas A&M (2-2, 0-2) has lost two straight.

Familiar pitch

UTPB men’s soccer team returns home to face UT Tyler in the Lone Start Conference opener at 3 p.m. Saturday at Falcon Field.

The Falcons (2-2-2) are coming off a 3-0 loss against St. Mary’s on Wednesday in San Antonio.

Gustavo Barroso leads UTPB in scoring with nine points (three goals, three assists), while six other Falcons have at least one goal.

UTPB women’s soccer team will try to build off a huge victory when it travels to face Texas Woman’s in Lone Star Conference at 1 p.m. Saturday in Denton.

The Falcons (3-4-1 overall, 1-3 in conference) defeated 24th-ranked Angelo State, 3-2, on Wednesday at Falcon Field.

It was the first victory for the program against a ranked opponent.
