COLLEGE BASKETBALL: Odessa College advances to NJCAA Region V title game

WOLFFORTH The Odessa College men’s basketball team will get a chance to defend its NJCAA Region V crown after defeating Collin County Community College 97-83 in a semifinal game Friday afternoon at Wolfforth Frenship High School.

The Wranglers (27-3) will face WJCAC rival South Plains College at 2 p.m. today in the Tiger Pit for the championship.

Keandre Cook had a game-high 22 points to lead Odessa College, with LJ Figueroa adding 18 and Josh Boyd 12 in the victory.

Tajzmel Sherman scored 19 points to lead Collin County (20-9), with Jonathan Washington adding 15 points and Tyrick Bennett 10 in the losing effort.
