COLLEGE BASEBALL: Wranglers jump out to big lead in victory over Chaparrals

The Odessa College baseball team jumped out to a big lead, watched rival Midland College rally in the middle innings and then added the necessary offense to earn a 19-9 victory in eight innings Tuesday at Wrangler Field.

Sean Stephens had five hits and five RBIs for the Wranglers, including the game-winner in the bottom of the eighth.

Tyson Pointer also drove in five runs in the victory.

Odessa College piled on the visiting Chaparrals with 16 runs through four innings. Midland countered with a run in the third inning, two more in the fifth and then three each in the sixth and seventh before the Wranglers could close things out.
