COLLEGE BASEBALL: Odessa College captures WJCAC Tournament title

The Odessa College baseball team capped off an unblemished weekend by defeating host Clarendon College 5-1 in the Western Junior College Athletic Conference Tournament Championship Sunday.

The Wranglers (21-24) defeated the Bulldogs for the second straight day and scored their last four runs over the course of the final three innings to pull away.

Marshall Wales gave Odessa College a solid start on the mound by striking out four and not allowing a run over seven innings. Brady Loving sealed the game by pitching the final two innings of relief.

TJ Tomlinson, Trevor Hatton and Brandon Rincones recorded two hits each to lead the Wranglers offensively.

Odessa College advances to the NJCAA Region 5 Tournament with details of its opening game still to be determined.
