BOYS HIGH SCHOOL GOLF: Loboes, Mustangs, Seminole's Johnson qualify for Class 4A state tournament

Both the Monahans and Andrews boys golf teams qualified for the Class 4A State Tournament after finishing second and third place, respectively, at the Region I-4A Championships at Shadow Hills Golf Club Thursday.

The Loboes (295-292—587) finished two shots back of champion Argyle (585) and were led by J.T. Pittman (69-72—141) and Bond Heflin (71-72—143).

The Mustangs finished with a two-day total of 602 with Carder Pool leading with a two-day total of 148.

Seminole golfer Cason Johnson (75-69—144) finished as the third individual state qualifier behind Braxton Floyd of Pampa and Jaryn Pruitt of Brownwood.

All three teams and individual qualifiers will play at the state tournament on May 20-21 at Plum Creek Golf Course in Kyle.
