GIRLS HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER: Permian's season ends in area round

ABILENE The Permian girls soccer team’s season came to an end in the area round of the playoffs Tuesday, losing to San Angelo Central 5-4 on penalty kicks after playing to a 1-1 draw through regulation and two overtime periods at Bulldog Stadium.

The Lady Cats (19-0-5 overall) took a 1-0 lead in the first half when Kelsey Wallace scored on a penalty kick.

Permian’s Natalie Terry scored off an assist from Tobi McCoy before halftime.

Madison Mayben scored the game-winning penalty in the shootout to send the Lady Cats to the regional quarterfinals, where they will face Arlington High on Friday.
