The Odessa Jackalopes selected eight new players Tuesday during the annual North American Hockey League’s draft.

Left wing Bram Scheerer, from Edina, Minn., was the Jackalopes’ first pick with the sixth-overall selection. He played for the Dubuque (Iowa) Fighting Saints of the USHL last season.

Defensemen Jackson Decker and Gunner Moore, goaltenders Zach Stern and Mathias Onuska, center Ryan Doolin, forward Avery Smith, left wing Will Dineen were the team’s other selection.

The Jackalopes are led by first year head coach Todd Watson.
