Lopes' homer leads Nashville to 7-5 win over Iowa

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) -- Christian Lopes hit a three-run home run in the sixth inning, leading the Nashville Sounds to a 7-5 win over the Iowa Cubs on Sunday.

The home run by Lopes gave the Sounds a 7-5 lead and capped a five-run inning for Nashville. Earlier in the inning, Preston Beck hit an RBI single and Tim Federowicz hit a sacrifice fly.

Nashville starter Austin Bibens-Dirkx (2-3) picked up the win despite allowing five runs and seven hits over five innings. Opposing starter Alec Mills (6-4) took the loss in the Pacific Coast League game after a rough outing in which he allowed seven runs and nine hits over six innings.

Donnie Dewees homered, doubled and singled, scoring two runs for the Cubs. Robel Garcia homered and singled, driving in three runs.
