Country crooner Brandon Rhyder will make an Odessa appearance on his latest tour.

The show is scheduled at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Rolling 7’s Ranch Event Center, which has featured a summer full of music this year.

Rhyder has been a fixture on the Texas country/red dirt music scene and has released seven albums with four No. 1 singles on the Texas Music Charts.

The first single from the self-titled release Brandon Rhyder, his website details, explores the complexities of relationships and the push and pull that somehow seems to make it all work. “The Way They Need Each Other,” a collaboration written and performed with singer-songwriter Lori McKenna, and was four years in the making for Rhyder.

The album came after Rhyder, his website details, took a break and cleared his head. “I needed to clear my mind and take a break from the day-to-day business for a while. And it was the best thing I could have ever done,” he explains. “In that time, I feel I’ve evolved, grown and realized it’s not just about me, or even about my wife Kelli and I. It’s about family, relationship, legacy. The big things.”

The 10-track album received positive early reviews.

Brandon Rhyder is slated for July 14 release, and was produced by Walt Wilkins. It is the third installment from the pair who also worked in tandem on 2006’s Conviction and 2010’s Head Above Water.

The new CD includes four co-writes with revered songsmiths including Keith Gattis, Michael Hearne, Bri Bagwell and multiple Grammy-winner Lori McKenna.

The Rolling 7’s Ranch has a rich history going back more than 100 years their website details. First known as the junction of many trails, the Rolling 7’s Ranch is the site of the last Comanche Raid into Texas.

In 1928, John Foster established the ranch, where it served as the headquarters for Permian Basin Oil Discovery, with the first well coming in during 1945. The stable was built in the 1960s while the ranch was owned by the Faudree family. The Hooper family later bought the headquarters in 1999.

Today, Rolling 7’s is still a working ranch where the Hooper family runs cattle, both crossbred and registered Charolais. The Rolling 7’s stable continued to be a working stable until 2010, when the family decided to raise the roof and dress it up. The original stalls and many of the original features, including the tie posts from the wash stall, the squeeze chute, and the vet room, which today serves as the Groom’s Room, remain on the site. The Hooper family and some close friends run the Ranch and Event Center, from booking events to branding cattle.
