NUGGETS: What if you could believe exactly what the Bible says?

By Jannie Linney

There are so many today that likes to pick and choose what they want to believe out of the bible. Most Christians would argue, saying, that they believe the entire bible. Seems to me people do what they really believe is right for them. We have been taught “Situation Ethics” for a generation now and that’s what people must think is true. [Situation Ethics is taking into account the particular context of an act, rather than judging it according to an absolute moral standard] In other words there are no absolutes for anyone, if you think its ok, then its ok for you!

That is why we see so many young people going off the deep end with seemingly no conscience of wrong doing. I’m sorry to say that has blead over into the adult world. There is just enough old timey belief pushed down from past generations for the younger generation to just think they believe the “Bible.” They heard their Grandmother say the bible is true. Parents didn’t follow up by living the morals, open prayer, church attendance and child training. So we see, actions speak louder than words. So I just wanted to ask;

What If: The Bible is true? What if the whole Bible is really true? “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness”[2Tim.3:16]. First we start with the word “All”, all scripture, not just the Old Testament, not just the New Testament. The Old Testament is the New Testament concealed and the New Testament is the Old Testament revealed. We need all of it. All Spirit breathed. We need it for the doctrine, reproof, and correction for training in righteousness.

What If: The 10 commandments are for us today? After all they are the Old Testament law! Really? God the Father said” I am the Lord thy God and I change not.” They are also brought over into the New Testament in several places.[Mark 10:19, 12:29, Luke 18:20] for a few places.

What If: The 10 Commandments are true? “Thou knowest the Commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honor thy father and mother.[Mark 10:19]. That is only 6 that were brought over into the N.T.

What If: This is true “But My God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus” [Phil.4:19]. The word “by” is a lockative word, if we are locked into Jesus,He has riches far better than we can even imagine, yet we trust other sources instead of Him and live in much less than He had planned for us. “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither has entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for them that love Him” [1Cor.2:9]. Just think, if we really love Him, we cannot even conceive what all He has for us.

What If: It’s real, “I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you”[Luke 10:19]. Serpents and scorpions are types of evil demonic forces projected through mankind, in the form of reactions and personalities. The bible teaches we have power over them. Not people but the forces.

We just haven’t been taught how to receive all the things He openly tells us He has provided. Strange, people can believe the supernatural of fortune telling, witches and the spiritual stuff on satan’s side of the fence, yet run from the supernatural from the God that created all things.

What If: We could just begin to believe the bible for exactly what it says. “What If?”
