NUGGETS: The oneness or unity of the Bible, the Word of God, is a miracle

By Jannie Linney

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God” [John 1:1]. Notice the Word has Capital Ws indicating The Christ, who is Jesus. The “Word,” Jesus, was in Heaven at the very beginning. He always was!

The “Word,” Jesus, was God. “For by Him were all things created, that are in Heaven, and that are in the earth, visible, and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers; all things were created by Him. And He is before all things and by Him all things consist” [Colo.1:16-17]. We see that Jesus always was, He was God, He created all things and even today all things are held together by Him. If Jesus stepped back and turned loose, everything would be in total chaos.

The Bible is a recording of “The Word.” The oneness or unity of the Bible is a miracle. It is a library of 66 books written by more than 35 different authors, in a period of approximately 1,500 years. Represented in the authors is a cross section of humanity, educated and uneducated, including Kings, fishermen, public officials, farmers, teachers and physicians. Included in the subjects are religion, history, law, science, poetry, drama, biography and prophecy. Yet its various parts are as harmoniously united as the parts that make up the human body. For 35 authors, with such varied backgrounds, to write on so many subjects, during a period of approximately of 1,500 years, in absolute harmony, is a mathematical impossibility. It could not happen! Then how do we account for the Bible? The only adequate explanation is: “Holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.”

The Lord showed me that “There is no word in the grave” “But I say unto you, that every idle word that man shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment” [Matt. 12:36]. Our words are extremely important to the quality of our daily living. The word “idle” is a word that is empty and with no value. Over and over the Bible reports “Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying, to Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Zechariah and others. The word of the Lord comes to us today. Jesus said “It is written, that man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God” [Luke 4:4]. The word “By” is a locative word. So By every word of God, reveals that we live locked into the word of God. Jesus said “I have come that you might have life, and that you might have life more abundant” [John 10:10]. Life, real Life comes from being locked into Him.

We are just getting started in this New Year. Someone out there may only know about Jesus and not have a real relationship with Him. Wouldn’t it be a wonderful thing to start this New Year off right and invite Him into your heart and come to “Life in Him” instead of just existing.

Come on, I’ll lead you in a prayer, just believe you are talking to Him and you will be. Say, “Jesus, I know you came to earth by way of a virgin, to suffer and die that my sins could be forgiven. Please forgive me of all I’ve ever done, come into my heart, be Lord of my life. Teach me how to have that Life in You. You were resurrected from the dead to give us victory and power in this new life, so thank you Jesus for becoming my Savior.” Now, if you prayed that with the right motive and believe in your heart, you are saved. If you are really saved you will study and live by — locked into — “The Word” Jesus.
