NUGGETS: His resurrection

By Jannie Linney

The Resurrection of Jesus Christ was prophesied in the Old Testament and in the New Testament and seen by those who were there. Many saw Jesus after the resurrection even though there were people paid to lie and say someone had stolen the body. Because God knows all things, He had the lie taken care of before it was ever spoken. He had divine appointments set up to take place, so that after “His Resurrection”, Mary saw Him, then the Apostles, Thomas was not There, seen by some more than once and on to Thomas in his doubting, also the crowds saw Him.

The persecution, the mocking, torment then the crucifixion was for you and me. It is written “Who gave himself for us, that He might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto Himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works”[ Titus 2:14]. Yes to buy us back from the sinful nature that Adam and eve caused us to be born into. Jesus went through what He did, to give us the opportunity to be “Born Again” into the “Kingdom of God.” That is why we need a Savior and Jesus is the One! No Church organization, no man, no other god, not works, only Jesus!

He was resurrected up out of that grave to pay the price for our victory over death. Many people were crucified on crosses but only one carried all our sins, sicknesses, hurts, confusions and burdens. Only one died, was buried and rose from the dead for mankind, His name is Jesus. You see, He died for those who would choose Him and what He did, so to be washed in His Precious Blood, redeeming us from all iniquity! He also suffered, died and rose from the dead for those who would reject Him and what He did for all mankind. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life”[John 3:16]. Yes, the whole world. Please hear this, ”No person is too bad to be saved and no sin is so big His Crucifixion, death and resurrection cannot cover!

“For God did not send His son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved”[V.17]. He didn’t come for those not messed up,[ because we are all messed up]. He came for those who come to the place they know they need Him.

“He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe in Him is condemned already”[V18]. When we are born of our mother’s womb, we are born in the sinful nature of Adam. That is why everyone born needs a savior. I intend to repeat – That is why Jesus went through the torment – so we could be “Born Again” into His redeeming, saving, Grace!

When He came up out of that grave, He gained victory over death for all mankind. Not all will choose Him, but those who do will die to our self, let Him live through us. Oh yes, this old flesh body will drop off someday, but we will never die. We will just step over into a different kind of surroundings to live with Him for all eternity.

We are resurrected with Him, “But God who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead In trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus”[Eph.2:4-7]. In our salvation, He raised us up, we already have a presence in heaven in Christ because of “His Resurrection
