CENTERS’ PIECE: Realize potential through life choices

Back in 2017, I wrote about Dove Chocolates and the sayings found inside the wrapper of each yummy candy. Enjoying a Dove is a family affair, especially with our grand kids. They not only enjoy this treat but give their wrappers to me to save for another “article”. So I guess it’s about time to go thru the little messages and share a few of my faves.
“Be someone you look up to.” Wow! This really stuck out for me because I believe most of us would agree that we are good people. We can be found in “church” often when the doors are open, contribute to organizations, say hello to our neighbors, send roses to our beloved on special occasions and even push our grocery carts back to the rack when finished shopping. But are you proud of your actions, spoken words or emotions when life gets a little tense, off track or throws you a curve? I tell my clients they are only in control of themselves and how they react to situations. So, continue with all the good, add more if possible, eliminate the not so good and maybe you will be on your own “Top Ten List” of people you look up to.
“Inhale the future and exhale the past” and “Life happens between an inhale and an exhale.” Breathe! Ahhhh! What are you holding onto from the past that seems to be interfering with your future? Are you rushing thru today in order to get to tomorrow? Are any of your relationships suffering because you are having difficulty with closing the door on issues that just don’t matter or does forgiving individuals of past offenses seem too hard? Life is made of choices. So what’s happening between breaths for you…regret, relief or renewal? Breathe!
“In the end, we only regret the chances we didn’t take.” Yes! What opportunities have come your way that you may have said “If only I had tried it”! Sure, no one knows the outcome of every experience we want to pursue but with a little research and maybe some encouragement from others, the opportunity is ready to be taken. The outcome might become a box checked on a buck-list or maybe something to be taken advantage of more often or maybe a long term life changer. By replacing just one letter, chances become changes. Should you go for it?
Now…are you up for YOUR Dove experience??
