HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL: Odessa High, Permian open playoffs against El Paso schools

The Odessa High and Permian softball teams begin their playoff journeys today with bi-district matchups against a pair of El Paso high schools.

The Lady Bronchos, the No. 2 seed from District 2-6A, will travel for Game 1 of a best-of-three series against El Paso Franklin, with the first pitch scheduled for 8 p.m. at Franklin. Game 2 will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Ratliff Softball Complex, with Game 3, if necessary, to follow 30 minutes after Game 2.

The Lady Panthers, the fourth seed, will host District 1-6A champion El Paso Montwood at 6 tonight at the Ratliff Softball Complex.

Permian will travel to face Montwood for Game 2 at 10 a.m. Saturday, with Game 3 to follow, if necessary.
